1. Eligible Applicant for Non-Immigrant O Visa

  • This type of visa is issued to traveler who wishes to enter Thailand as volunteer to work in a non-governmental organisation in Thailand.

 

2. Non-Immigrant O Visa Conditions

    2.1 Non-Immigrant O Visa is valid for a single entry for volunteer-related purposes only.

    2.2 Non-Immigrant O Visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. Non-Immigrant O Visa holder will be allowed to stay up to 90 days counting from the date of entry.

    2.3 During the 90-day stay, if Immigrant O Visa holder wishes to leave and re-enter Thailand, he/she is required to apply for a re-entry permit from the Office of Immigration Bureau.  Extension of stay is solely at the discretion of the Immigration officer. (http://www.immigration.go.th)

    2.4 If the Non-Immigrant O Visa holder breaches the entry conditions, the stay permit will be revoked, and he/she will be prohibited from entering Thailand in the future.

    2.5 A Non-Immigrant O Visa holder cannot request for a Non-Immigrant O Visa for accompanying spouse or family members.

 

3. Required Documents for Non-Immigrant O Visa application

    3.1 Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months

    3.2 One completed Visa application form

    3.3 One (01) Recent photograph (size 3.5 x 4.5 cm.) affixes to the visa application form

    3.4 Letter from a Thai government agency (Departmental level and above only) that supervises the organisation/foundation certifying the following details: (UPDATED REQUIREMENT)

          (1) Job position

          (2) Volunteer/work programme

          (3) Length of stay in Thailand

            Note:

            - If the applicant will volunteer in language learning, the applicant shall submit a letter from Thai Educational Service Area Office or Provincial Education Office or university or local administrative organisation that governs the educational institution in which the applicant wishes to volunteer, with the details as mentioned above.

            - For other areas of volunteer, the applicant shall submit a letter from relevant Thai government agency with the details as mentioned above.

    3.5 Invitation or acceptance letter from the concerned organisation/foundation in Thailand indicating the following details:

          (1) Job position

          (2) Volunteer/work programme

          (3) Length of stay in Thailand

    3.6 Copy of identity card (for Thai national) or passport and work permit (for foreigners) of the person signing an invitation or acceptance letter (in point 3.5)

    3.7 Documents from the concerned organisation/foundation as follows:

          (1) Copy of the concerned organisation/foundation’s registration or license in Thailand as a non-profit organisation

          (2) Summary of the organisation/foundation’s profile

     Note: Copies of organisation/foundation’s documents must be signed by the Board of Directors or authorised managing director and affixed seal of organisation on all pages.

    3.8 Copy of identity card (for Thai national) or, passport and work permit (for foreigners), of the person signing the organisation/foundation’s documents (in point 3.7).

    3.9 Evidence of adequate finance

  • A bank statement in the past 6 months, showing the minimum fund of THB 20,000.- per person

 

4. Visa Fees

  • Single entry USD 80.-
  • Visa Fees are accepted in US Dollars only and can be paid by the exact amount and by cash ONLY.
  • Visa Fees are non-refundable regardless outcome.  

 

5. Visa Processing

  • Processing time for a complete visa application will take 1-3 working days.
  • Visa application submission shall be made by online appointment ONLY at (click)

 

Remarks:

  • All personal documents (e.g., copy of identity card, passport, work permit, Thai house registration, etc.) shall be certified true copy, signed and dated by the owner of the documents.
  • All documents shall be in Thai or English ONLY.
  • Documents in foreign languages shall be translated into English or Thai and legalised by the public notary or the respective Embassy/Consulate-General.
  • Applicants shall clearly provide contact number and email address.
