TOURIST VISA
1. Eligible Applicant for Toursit Visa
- This type of visa is issued to applicant who wishes to enter the Kingdom for the sole purpose of tourism only. Employment is strictly prohibited.
2. Tourist Visa Conditions
2.1 Tourist Visa is valid for 3 months from the date of issuance. Travelers must enter the the country within the said 3-month period.
2.2 Travelers will be allowed to stay up to 60 days, counting from the date of entry. Extension of stay is possible for another 30 days, with a maximum stay of 90 days, counting from the date of entry. Travelers shall contact the Office of Immigration Bureau (http://www.immigration.go.th) for further information. Visa extension is solely at the discretion of the Immigration officer.
2.3 If the Tourist Visa holder breaches the entry conditions (for example, if he/she engages in work-related activities), the stay permit will be revoked, and he/she will be prohibited from entering Thailand in the future.
3. Required Documents for Tourist Visa application
3.1 Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months
3.2 One completed Visa application form
3.3 One (01) Recent photograph (size 3.5 x 4.5 cm.) affixes to the visa application form
3.4 Evidence of transportation
- Flight itinerary for ROUND TRIP ticket (in Thai or English)
- Flight reservation/itinerary must show the applicant’s full name, arrival and departure’s date and time, and flight details
3.5 Accommodation
(1) Applicant staying at the hotel:
- Copy of hotel or accommodation reservation, covering the period of stay and starting with the date of arrival into Thailand
- proof of hotel or accommodation reservation shall have the name of person, including family member(s) or accompanying person’s name(s) applying for the visa
(2) Applicant staying at the rented accommodation:
- Copy of lease contract
- Copy of house registration (if any)
- Copy of house owner and the lessor’s identity card (for Thai national) or passport and work permit (for foreigners) of the lessor
(3) Applicant staying with friends or family members who owns or rent an accommodation in Thailand:
- Invitation letter from friends or family members, with which you will stay in Thailand
- If the person you will be staying with is a Thai National:
- Copy of identity card
- Copy of Thai house registration
- If the person you will be staying with is a foreign National living/working in Thailand:
- Copy of Thai work permit with valid visa
- Copy of accommodation ownership documents or rental agreement or lease contract
(4) Applicant to Thailand for medical treatment:
- Letter from Thai hospital
- Copy of hotel or accommodation reservation, covering the period of stay and starting with the date of arrival into Thailand
- proof of hotel or accommodation reservation shall have the name of person, including family member(s) or accompanying persons’ name(s) applying for the visa
3.6 Evidence of adequate finance
- A bank statement in the past 6 months, showing the minimum fund of THB 20,000.- per person or THB 40,000.- per family
3.7 Additional requirements for certain countries
(1) National of certain countries (click) are required to apply for visa in person only at the Thai Embassy or Consulate-General at their home or country of residence.
(2) For Applicant of the said countries, who are residing in Vietnam and a holder of the Vietnamese Residence Card and/or Work Permit, are able to apply for visa at the Royal Thai Embassy in Hanoi, by providing a copy of the Vietnamese Temporary/Permanent Residence Card, Work Permit with legalisation stamp from the public notary or the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam in Hanoi.
(3) Applicant and holder of the People’s Republic of China’s passports, who do not have a residence in Viet Nam, may be able to apply for a Tourist or Transit Visa if they have round trip ticket to and from Thailand, evidence of accommodation in Thailand, and adequate finance.
(4) Applicant and holder of Nepalese passports, who do not have a residence in Viet Nam, may be able to apply for a visa if they can provide a guaranteed letter from the Nepalese Embassy/ Consulate-General/ Honorary Consulate or Thai Nepal Chamber of Commerce.
(5) Required documents:
- Three (03) recent photographs (size 3.5 x 4.5 cm.) affixes to the visa application forms
- Three (03) completed Visa application forms
- Copy of applicant’s passport
- Certifying letter from the company/organisation/institution, with which the applicant currently works or studies
- Work Permit AND Temporary/Permanent Residence Card in Viet Nam with validity of NOT less than six (06) months
- Copy of employment contract
- Round-trip ticket confirmation or ticket confirmation showing a transit into Thailand
- Hotel reservation (with name of applicant and the date corresponding with the said ticket confirmation)
- Evidence of adequate finance, equivalent to THB 20,000.- per person, and THB 40,000.- per family
Note: Applicants from Nigeria and Iran must submit four (4) photos and four (04) application forms.
4. Visa Fees
- Single entry USD 40.-
- Visa Fees are accepted in US Dollars only and can be paid by the exact amount and by cash ONLY.
- Visa Fees are non-refundable regardless outcome.
5. Visa Processing
- Processing time for a complete visa application will take 1-3 working days.
- Processing time for national of countries in point 3.7 will take at least 1-2 weeks.

Remarks:
- All personal documents (e.g., copy of identity card, passport, work permit, Thai house registration, etc.) shall be certified true copy, signed and dated by the owner of the documents.
- All documents shall be in Thai or English ONLY.
- Documents in foreign languages shall be translated into English or Thai and legalised by the public notary or the respective Embassy/Consulate-General.
- Applicants shall clearly provide contact number and email address.
