Non-Immigrant Visa  “O-A” (Long Stay)

 

  1. Eligible Applicant for Non-Immigrant O-A Visa
  • This type of visa is issued to travelers who wish to stay in Thailand for 1 year. Employment of any kind is prohibited.
  • Applicant must be 50 years of age or over (on the day submitting application)
  • Applicant is not prohibited from entering the Kingdom as provided by the Mmigration Act B.E. 2522 (1979)
  • Having no criminal record in Thailand and the country of applicant’s natioanlity or residence
  • Having Vietnamese temporary/permanent residence status or nationality in the country where the applicant submitting the application
  • Not having prohibitive diseases (Leprosy, Tuberculosis, drug addiction, Elephantiasis, thrid phase of Syphilis) as indicate in the Ministerial Regulation No. 14 B.E. 2535

 

  1. Non-Immigrant O-A Visa Conditions
  • Non-Immigrant O Visa is valid for a single entry for retirement in Thailand only.
  • Non-Immigrant O-A Visa is valid for one year, counting from the date of entry into Thailand. Non-Immigrant O-A Visa holder must report to the immigration officer in his/her residence area every 90 days duirng his/her stay in Thialand.
  • During the stay, if the travelers wish to leave and re-enter Thailand, they are required to apply for a re-entry permit from the Office of Immigration Bureau. (http://www.immigration.go.th)
  • Immigrant O-A Visa holder who wishes to apply for a re-entry permit shall contact the Office of Immigration Bureau for further information. Extension of stay is solely at the discretion of the Immigration officer.
  • If the Non-Immigrant O-A Visa holder breaches the entry conditions, the stay permit will be revoked, and he/she will be prohibited from entering Thailand in the future.

 

  1. Required Documents for Non-Immigrant O Visa application
  • Passport or travel document with validity not less than 18 months
  • Copy of Vietnamese emporary/Permanent Residence Card (not less than 6 months validity)
  • Three (03) completed Visa application forms
  • Three (03) Recent photographs (size 3.5 x 4.5 cm.) affixes to the visa application forms
  • Three (03) copies of personal data form or CV
  • Three (03) copies of bank statements showing a deposit of an amount equal to and not less than THB 800,000. - or an income certificate (an original copy) with a monthly income of not less than THB 65,000. - or a deposit account and a month income totalling not less than THB 800,000. -

Note: When submitting a bank statement, applicant shall also provide three (03) original copies of a letter of guaranteee from the bank.

  • Three (03) copies of letter of verification issued from the country of applicant’s nationality or residence stating the applicant has no criminal record. Verification shall be valid for not more than three months and legalised by notary public or the respective Embassy/Consulate-General
  • Three (03) copies of medical certificate issued from the country of residency where Applicant submitted the application, showing no prohibitive diseses (Leprosy, Tuberculosis, drug addiction, Elephantiasis, thrid phase of Syphilis) as indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No. 14 (B.E. 2535), with vailidity not less than three months, legalised by notary public or the Applicant’s Embassy/Consulate-General
  • In case where the accompanying spouse is not eligible to apply for Non-Immigrant O-A Visa, he/she will be sondiered for temporary stay under Category “O” Visa. A marriage certificate must be provided, as well as legalised by public notaryor the Applicant’s diplomatic or consular mission.
  • Health and accident insurance with the following details:
  • Thai insruance policy valid for the entrie length of intended stay in Thailand
  • Cover at least THB 40,000. - in medical expenses for outpatient care
  • Cover at least THB 400,000. - in medical expenses for inpatient care Guarantee letter from Thai spouse addressing to the Royal Thai Embassy in Hanoi (in Thai or English)
  1. Visa Fees
  • Single entry USD 200. -
  • Visa Fees are accepted in US Dollars only and can be paid by the exact amount and by cash ONLY.
  • Visa Fees are non-refundable regardless outcome.  
  1. Visa Processing
  • Processing time for a complete visa application will take 1-3 working days.
  • Processing time for national of countries in point 3.6 will take at least 1-2 weeks.
  • Visa application submission shall be made by online appointment ONLY at (click)

Remarks:

  • All personal documents (e.g., copy of identity card, passport, work permit, Thai house registration, etc.) shall be certified true copy, signed and dated by the owner of the documents.
  • All documents shall be in Thai or English ONLY.
  • Documents in foreign languages shall be translated into English or Thai and legalised by the public notary or the respective Embassy/Consulate-General.
  • Applicants shall clearly provide contact number and email address.
