1. Eligible Applicant for Non-Immigrant ED Visa

  • This type of visa is issued to travelers who wish to enter Thailand for the purpose of studying, attending seminar, training, internship at a company as compulsory part of curriculum in Thailand.

 

2. Non-Immigrant ED Visa Conditions

    2.1 Non-Immigrant ED Visa is valid for a single entry for studying, attending seminar, training, internship purposes only.

    2.2 Non-Immigrant ED Visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. Non-Immigrant ED Visa holder will be allowed to stay up to 90 days from the date of entry.

    2.3 During the 90-day stay, if Non-Immigrant ED Visa holder wishes to leave and re-enter Thailand, he/she is required to apply for a re-entry permit from the Office of Immigration Bureau. Extension of stay is solely at the discretion of the Immigration officer. (http://www.immigration.go.th)

    2.4 If the Non-Immigrant ED Visa holder breaches the entry conditions, the stay permit will be revoked, and he/she will be prohibited from entering Thailand in the future.

3. Required Documents for Non-Immigrant ED Visa application

    3.1 Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months

    3.2 One completed Visa application form

    3.3 One (01) Recent photograph (size 3.5 x 4.5 cm.) affixes to the visa application form

    3.4 Documents from school, university or institution

          3.4.1 Applicants wish to study in a government school or university:

                  (1) Letter of acceptance from the concerned government school or university

                  (2) Recommendation letter from government school, university or institution addressed to the Royal Thai Embassy in Hanoi

    Note: Copies of school, university or institution’s documents must be signed by the authorised director and affixed seal of the school, university or institution on all pages.

          3.4.2 Applicants wish to study in a private institution:

                  (1) Letter from the Ministry of Education of Thailand, or other desginated authorities concerned, approving the enrolment of foreign student, and a copy of registration certificate of the concerned academic institute

                  (2) Acceptance letter from the concerned academic institute/organisation/company

                  (3) School/institute’s documents as follows:

                       - Recommendation letter addressed to the Royal Thai Embassy in Hanoi

                       - Student ID card (if currently studying at the acedemic institute) and academic record

                       - List of shareholders

                       - School profile

          Note: Copies of private institution’s documents must be signed by the authorised director and affixed seal of the private institution on all pages.

          3.4.3 Applicants wish to study in religion institute

                  (1) Acceptance letter form religion institute

                  (2) Copy of religion identity card

                  (3) Other relevant documents

          Note: Copies of religion institution’s documents must be signed by the authorised director and affixed seal of the institution on all pages.

          3.4.4 Applicants wish to attend seminar, training session, or do an internship

                  (1) Letter of acceptance from concerned organisation or company adddessed to the Royal Thai Embassy in Hanoi

                  (2) Corporate documents of company in Thailand:

                        - Invitation letter from company in Thialnad

                        - Business registration and business license

                        - List of shareholders

                        - Company profile

                        - Balance sheet, statement of income

                        - Taxes requirements: Por Por 20 (VAT), Por Por 30 (monthly) and Por Ngor Dor 50 (yearly) of the latest year

                        - Name list of foreign workers in the company (name, nationality, position)

                        - Copy of identity card (for Thai national) or passport and work permit (for foreigners) of the Board of Directors or authorised managing director who signed the company’s documents

          Note: Copies of company documents must be signed by the Board of Directors or authorised managing director and affixed seal of company on all pages.

    3.5 Evidence of adequate finance

  • A bank statement in the past 6 months, showing the minimum fund of THB 20,000. - per person

    3.6 Additional requirements for certain countries

         (1) National of certain countries (click) are required to apply for visa in person only at the Thai Embassy or Consulate-General at their home or country of residence.

         (2) For Applicants of the said countries, who are residing in Vietnam and a holder of the Vietnamese Residence Card and/or Work Permit, are able to apply for visa at the Royal Thai Embassy in Hanoi, by providing a copy of the Vietnamese Temporary/Permanent Residence Card, Work Permit with legalisation stamp from the public notary or the Consular Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam in Hanoi, as well as required documents as per link in point 4 (1).

 

4. Visa Fees

  • Single entry USD 80. - (valid for 3 months)
  • Visa Fees are accepted in US Dollars only and can be paid by the exact amount and by cash ONLY.
  • Visa Fees are non-refundable regardless outcome.  

 

5. Visa Processing

  • Processing time for a complete visa application will take 1-3 working days.
  • Processing time for national of countries in point 3.6 will take at least 1-2 weeks.
  • Visa application submission shall be made by online appointment ONLY at (click)

 

Remarks:

  • All personal documents (e.g., copy of identity card, passport, work permit, Thai house registration, etc.) shall be certified true copy, signed and dated by the owner of the documents.
  • All documents shall be in Thai or English ONLY.
  • Documents in foreign languages shall be translated into English or Thai and legalised by the public notary or the respective Embassy/Consulate-General.
  • Applicants shall clearly provide contact number and email address.
